In July of 1983, Ronda set off for Columbus, Ohio to pursue a Master of Science degree at The Ohio State University in the Department of Plant Pathology. As a student of Dr. C.C Powell, she completed her Master of Science degree with a thesis entitled, Evaluation of an Electrostatic Rotary Atomizer as a Greenhouse Pesticide Applicator.

After graduation in 1985, Ronda worked for The Ohio State University Cooperative Extension Service.

Ronda moved to Colorado in 1988 when husband Tony accepted the position of turfgrass specialist in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University.

Ronda has been working with Dr. Bill Jacobi in the Forest and Shade Tree Pathology Lab since 1998.
